The Double Crossing of the Andes is a seven-day adventure that crosses the Andes Mountains between Argentina and Chile twice. It is designed for riders seeking an authentic cycling experience that combines breathtaking nature, physical challenge, and local culture.
We’ll ride along gravel roads, through remote valleys, charming small towns, and scenic trails leading to spectacular viewpoints, volcanoes, and crystal-clear lakes. We’ll cross international borders, tackle climbs with panoramic views of volcanic craters, and enjoy winding descents through the heart of the Andes.
Throughout the journey, you’ll enjoy full support, including comfortable accommodations, half board (5 lunches and 1 dinner), a support vehicle, experienced bilingual guides, and the option to rent either a traditional mountain bike or an e-bike.

7:50 AM – Luggage loading
Place your luggage in the support van.
Important: Please pack light and bring the smallest suitcase or duffel bag possible to make customs inspections easier.
Couples and friends are encouraged to share one suitcase whenever possible to maximize space in the support vehicle.
8:15 AM – Transfer to the ride start
Van transfer to the starting point of today's ride (approximately **1 hour 30 minutes**).
Today's Ride
* Ride **15 km (9.3 miles)** on gravel roads to the **Argentina–Chile border**, with spectacular views of **Lanín Volcano**, which rises to nearly **4,000 meters (13,100 feet)**.
* Hydration stop at the **Chile border sign**.
* Continue for **35 km (22 miles)** on paved roads through Chile to the town of **Curarrehue**, where we'll stop for lunch.
* **Lunch included:** Fresh Chilean salmon.
* After lunch, we'll continue our ride with the famous **Caracol Descent**, a thrilling **14 km (8.7-mile)** downhill through the Andes.
Important Safety Notes
* Keep **both hands on the handlebars** at all times.
* Control your speed to prevent your brakes from overheating.
* Bridges have **no shoulders** and include raised edges—please cross them with extra caution.
* Arrival at our hotel in Pucón, where we'll spend the night and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of this charming lakeside town.

9:00 AM – Start of today's ride
* Scenic ride along the lakeshore with a special group photo stop.
* Climb to the Villarrica Volcano viewpoint (11 km / 6.8 miles of steep climbing).
* Opportunity to see smoke rising from the volcano's active crater.
* Picnic at the summit featuring fresh fruit, cereal, water, and coffee.
* Return to Pucón along the same route.
2:00 PM – Lunch
Lunch included at Focaccia Restaurant, located on Las Fresias Street.
Menu: Beef.
Return to Pucón. Free afternoon and evening to relax or explore the town at your own pace.
Optional Excursion: Huife Hot Springs

Located about 33 km (20 miles) from Pucón, Chile, the Huife Hot Springs are the perfect place to relax and recharge. Surrounded by the lush forests of the Andes, these outdoor thermal pools are fed by mineral-rich waters renowned for their therapeutic benefits. In addition to soaking in the hot springs, you'll enjoy comfortable facilities, including a spa, relaxation areas, and beautiful views of the Liucura River—making it an ideal way to unwind after a day of cycling.
* This beautiful paved route winds through breathtaking countryside, passing scenic lakes and towering volcanoes.
* Enjoy a 68 km (42-mile) ride from Coñaripe to Choshuenco, a charming village on the shores of Lake Panguipulli.
* Overnight at Hotel Rukapillan, a cozy lodge known for its beautiful wooden architecture.
9:00 AM 💼 Luggage Drop-Off
Please place your luggage in the gray support van before we begin today's ride.
9:30 AM 🚴♂️ Start of the Ride
We begin with a 10 km (6.2-mile) ride to the spectacular Huilo Huilo Waterfall, located within the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve. From there, we'll continue another 10 km (6.2 miles) to the unique Baobab Tourist Complex, one of the area's most iconic attractions.

Included in the tour package (drinks and gratuities are not included).
After lunch, we'll ride another 2 km (1.2 miles) to Puerto Fuy, where we'll board the ferry for an unforgettable crossing of Lake Pirehueico. The ferry ride takes approximately 2 hours to Puerto Pirihueico.
After disembarking, we'll ride 10 km (6.2 miles) on paved roads to the Chilean border, then continue another 4 km (2.5 miles) to the Argentine border crossing.
Finally, we'll board the support van for a 1-hour transfer back to San Martín de los Andes, wrapping up the day surrounded by spectacular scenery and unforgettable memories.

Today's ride takes us along scenic bike paths, trails, and quiet roads, passing breathtaking viewpoints, pristine lakes, and beautiful forests as we explore one of Patagonia's most charming mountain towns.

Group transfer to Chapelco Airport in San Martín de los Andes.

Payment Options
To secure your spot, a deposit of approximately 20% of the tour price is required at the time of booking. 60 days before the tour, an additional payment of about 15% is due. The remaining balance must be paid in cash on the first day of the tour upon arrival at the destination.
Payment methods may vary depending on your country of residence. Once you get in touch with us, we’ll provide you with all the details and available payment options.
Cancellation Policy
Once a reservation is made, no refund will be given in the event of a cancellation. The reservation can be applied to another available date if you notify us at least two months in advance to avoid any penalties related to bookings. Each reservation slot is non-transferable and cannot be used as credit toward other tours taking place on the same date.
