Tour Highlights
Welcome to a fascinating adventure through Slovenia and Italy, where the beauty of nature blends with the rich history and culture of the cities we will visit.
Tour Description
Departing from the charming Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, we will begin our journey cycling through the picturesque streets of this city full of charm.

Our next stop will be the town of Bled, famous for its stunning lake and the castle that dominates the landscape. We will enjoy the panoramic views and the unique atmosphere of this place.

On the third day, heading towards Tarvisio, we will enter Italy and witness the grandeur of the Italian Alps as we travel. Cycling through lush forests and crystal-clear rivers, we will immerse ourselves in the unspoiled nature of this region. We will spend the night in Tarvisio, a city of historical importance and a stop on the renowned Giro d'Italia cycling race.

On the fourth day, we will continue our journey along the Alpe-Adria route, a stunning trail that follows an old, disused railway line, now transformed into a cycle path. We will be treated to breathtaking views of the majestic Dolomites, an imposing mountain range in the Italian Alps.

After passing through historic cities over 1500 years old and stunning natural landscapes, we will arrive in Grado, located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. We will feel the sea breeze and celebrate the completion of this incredible cycling experience, filled with unforgettable memories.

Get ready to explore, pedal, and marvel at every kilometer you travel. This will be a journey that awakens the senses and leaves lasting memories.

Approximately 315km of cycling (the entire trip).

Attention : During our route, we will pass through some poorly lit tunnels. To ensure your safety and improve visibility in these sections, we recommend wearing clear glasses. These glasses will help improve your vision in low-light conditions, allowing you to enjoy the trip with more comfort and safety.

Tip for those arriving on Friday (the day before our itinerary begins) : If you have Friday free before our program starts, don't miss the "Open Kitchen" (Odprta Kuhna) open-air market in Ljubljana. This food market takes place every Friday in Pogačar Square (Pogačarjev trg) and is one of the city's most popular attractions. At the Open Kitchen, local chefs and restaurants offer a variety of dishes, from Slovenian specialties to international cuisine, all freshly prepared. It's an excellent opportunity to try different flavors and enjoy the lively outdoor atmosphere. The market usually runs from 10 am to 9 pm.

Tip for those who will have an extra day before the free itinerary: For those who can arrive a few days before the start of our itinerary, we recommend visiting the Postojna Caves (Postojnska Jama), near the city of Postojna. They are one of the country's most famous tourist attractions and are located approximately 50km southwest of the capital, Ljubljana. The caves are famous for their impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations, and for being one of the largest karst caves in Europe. Next to the caves is also Predjama Castle, a famous castle that still clings to the limestone cliffs of Slovenia. How to get there? There are regular buses (costing €1.80) that depart from Ljubljana to Postojna. The bus trip takes about an hour. Upon arriving at the Postojna bus station, you can walk or take a taxi to the caves.
DAY 02 — Ljubljana → Bled

70 km | 820 m of elevation gain

Landscape:

You begin cycling from the charming Slovenian capital, passing through tranquil urban areas and soon entering lush green countryside. Small villages, agricultural fields, and low forests dominate the route. As you approach the Julian Alps, the mountains begin to appear on the horizon.

Expected weather:

From May to September, temperatures range between 18ºC and 28ºC, with a mild and generally stable climate. In the morning, it may be cooler, with the possibility of light fog in the valleys.

Attractions:

Ljubljana's historic center (if you leave by bike early, you can still appreciate it beforehand).

Typical rural villages of central Slovenia.

A stunning arrival at Lake Bled, with its famous island and castle perched atop the cliff—one of the most beautiful postcard views in Europe.
DAY 03 — Bled → Kranjska Gora

50 km | 820 m

Landscape:

This is one of the most beautiful stretches of the route. You gently ascend through the Sava River valley until you reach the alpine region. The mountains become increasingly imposing, with dense forests, turquoise rivers, and alpine villages. The final stretch to Kranjska Gora is a wide, well-maintained cycle path through pine forests.

Expected weather:

Temperatures between 15ºC and 25ºC in summer, but with a more alpine feel. Possibility of brief mountain showers in the afternoon.

Attractions:

Lake Bled early in the morning — excellent for photos with the soft light.

Radovljica, a very charming historical village.

Sava Dolinka Valley.

Arrival at the alpine resort of Kranjska Gora, with its mountain climate and postcard-perfect scenery.

DAY 03 — Loop Kranjska Gora (via Fusine, Tarvisio and Arnoldstein)

54 km | 1,020 m

This tri-national loop takes you through Slovenia, Italy, and Austria in a single ride. The day begins on bike paths through forests and alpine villages, passing through Podkoren and Rateče. The most striking climb leads to the Fusine Lakes, two glacial lakes of emerald-blue water surrounded by the cliffs of the Mangart massif—one of the most beautiful spots on the trip. Afterwards, a gentle descent leads to Tarvisio, an Italian alpine town with cafes and a mountain atmosphere.

The route follows the Alpe-Adria cycle path to Coccau/Thörl-Maglern, entering Austria, where the scenery opens up to green valleys, farms, and small villages like Arnoldstein. The return to Slovenia is gentle, along quiet country roads and cycle paths that once again wind through dense forests until reaching Kranjska Gora again.

Landscape and climate: extremely varied scenery — glacial lakes, wide Austrian valleys and Slovenian forests. Alpine climate, cool in the highlands and warmer in the Italian valleys.

Overall feeling: one of the most scenic and enjoyable days, with moderate climbs, great bike paths, and plenty of photo opportunities.

DAY 05 — Kranjska Gora → Carnia (Italy)

69 km | 510 m

Landscape:

A day of transition between the Slovenian Alps and the Italian side. The route tends to be more downhill than uphill. You cross the border through a green valley surrounded by mountains, enter the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region and notice the change in architecture, the style of the villages and the pace of life.

Expected weather:

It gets warmer as you descend in altitude: 18ºC to 28ºC. Usually sunny in summer.

Attractions:

Alpine border between Slovenia and Italy.

Wide valleys, clear rivers, and quiet roads.

Very photogenic Friulian villages.

The Carnia region is famous for its mountain cuisine and tranquil atmosphere.

DAY 06 — Carnia → Udine

63 km | 310 m

Landscape:

A gentler day, with a predominantly flat landscape. You leave the Alps behind and enter the Friulian plains. Vineyards, farmland, and tranquil cycle paths lead to the elegant city of Udine.

Expected weather:

Warmer weather: 22ºC to 32ºC in summer. Sunny and quite open route.

Attractions:

Quiet rural roads in the Friuli region.

Traditional vineyards and wineries.

Arrival in Udine, a historic city with Venetian squares, a castle, and a very pleasant center for walking and celebrating the end of the trip.
End of Services: Udine (Italy). From there, it is possible to continue to Verona, Venice or Milan, from where there are air connections to various destinations in Europe.

After breakfast, each traveler can decide the best route to their next destination.

Baggage transport

To ensure the *safety and maximum efficiency* of our expedition throughout our journey, we have adopted a standardized baggage logistics system:

✅ What you can bring:

Your main baggage is limited to 23kg, which allows for careful handling and precise organization of the support vehicle. As an additional item, you may also bring a backpack weighing up to 8kg.

⚠️ We remind you that:

Due to limited space in the vehicle and to ensure punctual delivery of luggage to hotels, we *do not transport extra items* (such as luggage for pre- or post-trip periods). All items must be consolidated into the two pieces of luggage mentioned above.

This arrangement allows the support vehicle to transport sensitive equipment safely and ensures your luggage arrives at its destination on time.

Your cooperation is essential to maintaining the excellence of our service. Thank you for your understanding!

To secure your spot, a deposit of approximately 20% of the tour price is required at the time of booking. 60 days before the tour, an additional payment of about 15% is due. The remaining balance must be paid in cash on the first day of the tour upon arrival at the destination.

Payment methods may vary depending on your country of residence. Once you get in touch with us, we’ll provide you with all the details and available payment options.
